Reflections: Tiny Ballerina

I have recently started a new series called "Reflections." A series I am very excited about. The first person I photographed is a friend's daughter. A 6 year old ballerina. I couldn't have asked for better results.

Enjoy,

These will all be for sell in the store soon.

Insight into Beautiful Simplicity

The photos inside the "Beautiful Simplicity" series are my favorite photos I have created. Each one continues to surpass the last. I am constantly asked, "What is the inspiration behind them?" "what makes decide to create them?" I decided to write this post to talk more with you about the "sheet photos" as so many call them.

I see a location, how light hit it, how color reacts to it. Then I think of someone I feel would fit into the scene, after deciding from a selection of colors I give them we plan the shoot and start shooting. I can honestly say that the set up for these shoots takes alot longer than the actually shooting itself. It's a delicate process when I am setting up and bringing all the elements together.

In recent weeks I have become closer to a few people who really appreciate the art in my photography. It is easy for me to tell the ones who are around because I can provide them with photos and the ones who are actually interested in being in my life regardless. One in paticular I've taken quite the liking to, however that isnt the point of this babbling road I am on. My point in saying that is this. Everyone of the pieces in the series so far I consider my friends, a part of my life. I look back and see the memories of the jokes I made with the model and the assistants helping me. I remember the various struggles to make my imagination come to life, the freezing cold rain or wind that always seems to appear when I do one of these. There really just isn't any better feeling than being able to hang a print of a photo that you envision and created.

Here are a few of the most recent pieces from this series.
